I recreate delicate flowers, enfolded in a clay slip, into resolute and reborn blooms through firing. While the organic essence of flowers dissipates, the essence is eternally preserved in the vessel of inorganic slip. This transformative process from organic to inorganic mirrors an exquisite creation, where the vanished blossoms bloom anew. In what remains after firing, I aspire to ruminate on the meaning of the finitude and infinity of life.

Within the realm of ceramics, my gaze fixates on what remains in the wake of fiery metamorphosis. The ceramics that endure the searing flames have kindled a profound wonder within my artistic curiosity. Ever since I embarked on my ceramic journey, I have been inescapably drawn to the world of materials, subjecting them to fervent rapture of the kiln, seeking what remains beyond blaze. Indeed, both the alchemy of firing and the enduring aftermath are the materials themselves. Firing breathes life into organic materials while what remains transcends into inorganic existence. Unlike organic materials, inorganic materials eloquently narrate timeless tales across myriad forms. By harnessing this trait, I propose to present novel possibilities for materials used in ceramics. Further, the title ‘ReMain’ is intentional, melding the regal letters ‘R’ and ‘M’ from the English word ‘to continue to exist without disappearing,’ alluding to the prefix ‘Re,’ meaning ‘again,’ and the adjective ‘Main,’ signifying the hues of ‘principal’ and ‘major.’ Thus, ‘ReMain’ emerges as an ode to the things endure, gracing all forms, including the very foundations that birthed this creation.
