Water inspires imagination through its depth, reflection, and ever-changing form shaped by the environment—vast like the ocean or narrow like a stream. I interpret this as water"material imagination",which reveals a sense of spatiality defined by volume,boundaries,and texture. Through clay, I aimed to express the flowing, ephemeral nature of water by materializing fragments of the sea. Each piece connects to convey the continuous rhythm of waves.

Water has a natural shape due to its surrounding environment. In the ocean, it exists immensely to reach an unknowable depth and beyond the horizon, and flows somewhere between narrow cracks of rocks, such as valleys. From these large seas to small lakes, water has a variety of shapes, and because it takes many forms, there will be more possibilities than any other material in nature to create images. I think that the material imagination of water is the 'sense of space of water'. The elements that make up the sense of space of water include volume, boundaries, and texture. Through this work, I tried to express the material imagination of water vaguely imagined in a formative language through a medium called soil. Water is a medium with flexible flowability, and it is difficult to accurately capture its shape. It seems to be there all the time, but in the end, water circulates throughout the world and cannot exist in the same space and time.
