Ziegel #3_648 is a three-layered sculptural series composed of 648 individual units. Starting from a fundamental question about repetitive stacking, the work explores the original role of this act in the formation and development of civilization. Through painterly order, repetition and variation, and the act of stacking itself, the series investigates the potential for formal expansion between painting and architecture.

其他說明:

This study explores the architectural principle of stacking from both historical and design perspectives. It begins with the idea that stacking—from early childhood play to prehistoric stone heaps—is a universal human action. At the center is the basic building block, the Baustein, whose material, technique, and form have evolved over time. Historical case studies—from Neolithic structures and Mesopotamian mudbrick architecture to Roman concrete—highlight how stacking techniques shaped visual order and formal principles. In parallel, the work of Agnes Martin provides a conceptual framework. Her paintings, defined by grids, repetition, balance, and subtle variation, inspire reflection on the spatial and sensory potential of stacking. Through experiments with ceramic granules, stacking is reinterpreted as a visual system and applied to new design contexts. The project frames stacking not only as a technical method but also as an aesthetic and spatial principle—one that organizes, repeats, and reveals difference.
