A second is accepted as the standard unit of time, yet its duration is an arbitrary construct. Under standardised time, our perception of time becomes alienated. Clock uses the pulse intervals of human heartbeats as a unique temporal unit, inviting the audience to experience time through an intrinsic rhythm and presence. Ceramics symbolise the eternal and cyclical nature of time through its non-biodegradable nature and transformative process.

Every artwork (except for conceptual art) requires a medium to exist, as the medium serves as the physical or material basis. Therefore, the materials used are extremely important and should be a conscious decision that enhances or benefits the work. There are many aspects to explore within each material, the contexts, impressions or properties all can be unique to different materials. Ceramic, despite its challenges during production, is one of my favourite materials to work with because of its flexibility and depth in these aspects. “Time” is a concept that I am truly interested in and would like to explore in my work. The concept of time is a fundamental aspect of human understanding and existence, and our interpretation of its definition changes based on the context. Time can be referred to scientifically, philosophically, or just in everyday understanding. Despite all the various definitions, the eternity of time remains the same under all definitions. It never ceases to exist, and everything exists relative to it and within it. Its diverse definition and its crucial role in our understanding of things or happenings intrigue me.
