Dew reflects the qualities of dew formation, with luminous dewdrops and porcelain foliage immersed in pools of dew. Blurring lines between glaze and clay, the hybrid material preserves a state of flux — the momentary movement of changing states — between fluidity and solidity. Viscous glazes and self-glazing porcelain reveal the intangible and unseen changes of nature. The whiteness invites a quiet observation of fleeting moments in the mundane.

Tan’s studio practice is a material-driven investigation of the fragile yet enduring nature of porcelain. To reflect nature in a delicate state of flux, the intricate motifs preserve the subtle tension between strength and fragility. Her techniques emulate the qualities of soft light filtering through foliage, overgrown local weeds and dewdrops — often immaterial and overlooked in the urban landscape. The design collection is a series of sculptural porcelain installations: wall, floor and hanging, inviting viewers in a quiet observation of the transitory moments found in the mundane.
