Concept of artwork

I started to think about , If the people in a photograph looks like they can live longer than the real life. Then I try to transform the material, and want to make their lives much longer. So I used slip to trace my grandfather's photo and fired. This process is like a ceremony to recall and keep his life and memory.

This body of work is very well made, delicate, fragile and precious, just like the memories we hold. I really enjoy the aesthetic of this work, the abstract visual of figures and people, some what recognisable, just as they can be in memories. I appreciate the personal connection the maker has with this work, most viewers will bring their own personal connection in empathy for the concept of this work.
