Concept of artwork 設計理念:
This work is my understanding of Maiolica ware in a contemporary context. Traditional Maiolica ware use ceramics as a 3d canvas, the form and pattern was irrelevant, so I want to unite the form and pattern, to bring life to its own. The sprayed glaze underneath was intended to create a blurry effect while the bending lines suggest the movement, together with the tall concentric circle form, I want to show spinning movement on a still object.

I am mainly focusing on exploring stackable ceramic forms and airbrush techniques. I am fascinated by the effect of airbrushing glaze as my passion for porcelain stems from a love of nature, I love exploring the effect of light and dark contrasts through the rotation of the earth and capture the constantly changing conditions of light and colour, this timeless sense of space.

The objects are visually bold and totemic. The creator is able to communicate their concept through the work successfully. However, there is some need to further refine skills of fettling the casting lines (some are visible in the images) and in joining some of the cast components. But overall, this is a good body of work.
