Concept of artwork

The porcelain could present the characteristics of obscurity and vague under the light, it will bring us a diverse kind of visual experience through its delicate and subtle texture. Through the superposition of porcelain flakes, it will form various changes in between light and the darkness. As the light penetrating the vessel, we can feel the space it contains. Our eyes are shifting from objects to their surroundings, from the darkness to the light, so that we can feel the dance performed by the white clay and the illusive space.

Aesthetics: the light works are beautiful and translucent. There is a lot of opportunity for the maker to further develop their ideas and the patterns within the material that are illuminated by light. Innovation: the light works are unique to the maker and their idea, however I feel further innovation could be achieved through more experimentation with materials and patterns used to create variation in light through the work. Concept: I can understand the concept, however I feel it could be articulated clearer, I feel a simpler language could be used to explain the works and ideas in a clearer way. My impression of the work from the concept is communicated through the work and again it has opportunity to grow in ambition through use of pattern, shape and how the work is installed for the viewer to experience. Craftsmanship: this work is well made and the lines are clean, this can be challenging to achieve as light illuminates every flaw in a porcelain work. I feel skill could be further grown with different forms and various patterns to cast light through.
