Concept of artwork 設計理念:

A large body of research proves that there is an innate human tendency to connect color, texture and sound with taste. But what are the borders of this connection? Can it be translated into a playful dining experience? How far can the user be taken out of his comfort zone, and can new relationships with food and beverage be formed there? I seek to explore the borders of expectation, and discover new interactions with food and its vessels. I see liquids as an opportunity to test unusual forms, and break out of the well-established world of drinks. IZOON is a unique drinking experience in which the user takes the role of a hummingbird, gliding through a space occupied by a variety of hanging nectar filled vessels. the Colors and shapes of the vessels are abstract interpretations of natural forms. thus, I aim to test the intuitive human expectation for taste relating to visual stimuli. According to studies on the subject, the color red is usually perceived as sweet, yellow as sour and black as bitter. Also, pointy shapes appear more bitter than soft ones. My experiment shows that people perceive taste while drinking from the vessels even when drinking neutral liquid.
