Concept of artwork 設計理念:
My current work is inspired by the spectacular cliffs and bays of North Yorkshire’s Jurassic coastline, where many secrets of the landscape’s history are laid bare; ancient forms and textures, the remains of life through millions of years exposed in rocks hidden beneath the earth’s surface. Replicating the dynamic forces of nature using porcelain and paper clay, I seek to recreate the thrill of discovery of hidden forms and textures revealed by the fossilised remains of ancient life.

I would describe my work as a journey of artistic creativity mirroring my own life journey, taking inspiration from natural environment and the impact of man therein. Merging these cultural and physical influences has served to shape my intellectual milieu; I sculpts ceramic designs in three dimensions using a variety of physical processes, specialising in porcelain and paper clay.
