Concept of artwork 設計理念:

This project came into being in Arita, Japan. Influenced by the culture of drinking green tea and receiving food and drinks with all your senses, I wanted to create a tea set. The cup has no base, therefore you can really feel the warmth of the tea and the surface of the porcelain. The saucer takes on the function of a base, it stabilizes the cup. Together cup and saucer become one unit, which is only working when both are combined.

其他說明:

In Japan you usually drink green tea out of a very small sized pot (compared to European standards). That is because you empty the whole pot into the cups after the leaves, which are inside the pot, were long enough in touch with the water. Often there is a net inside of the pot to hold back the leaves. But you can also use the lid itself to fulfill this function: the lid has to be held by the fingertip while pouring, so that the leaves are kept inside the pot. The pot has enough volume to fill up two small or one big cup.
