My work inspired by petunia which is usually used to decorate house, gardens and streets in China. Nurturing these beautiful little lives with my grandmother in our house is one of the most unforgettable memories for me. When I came to Bath, a beautiful small city in the southwest of England I always saw this flower everywhere in summer. Those familiar flowers recalled me a good time with my family in hometown and inspired me to create my ceramic work which can connect with China and Britain. Also, the beauty of the flower is always short-lived and fragile.I want to use my method to record their beautiful moment.I made a lot of palm-size vessels which has the shape of the bowl with white porcelain to describe the impression of petunia from my mind. I utilized tools press into very thin porcelain slabs to make the concave textures. The effect of transparent by thin porcelain is evident because of these textures. In order to preserve the quality of naked porcelain,I utilized pink acrylic board as a plinth to reflect the colour onto the underside of my work.The colour is more changeable and subtle, because white is a sensitive colour, it's affected easily by the surroundings.

My work is made up of many small pieces, there is no exact number that I can exhibit depend on the size of plinth.My pink board is 60x60cm. The size of my pieces is all different.
