Concept of artwork 設計理念:

This collection of unorthodox sculptures reflects on past experiences and my need to mend and care. Thirty years of nursing have given me an unusual insight an embedded knowledge and appreciation of others. But time has prompted concerns of how we as humans fit together and fit within our surroundings. These issues have affected how and where I have chosen to apply my care. As a maker and a mender porcelain presents itself as a remarkable material to provoke a reaction from. It integrates stresses and tensions with little complaint and as I push the creative boundaries it adapts, blends and reacts in symbiotic relationships with other materials. When porcelain chooses to misbehave it has been the result of my pursuing of the extraordinary and the hidden, where my curiosity, improvisation and experimentation has created such pressure that the wounds, fissures and oozing’s have no option but to break through. These combinations have created objects that appear as hybrids with elements of living tissue, natures textures and colours of the earth. They are catalysts for interactions and change and call on the viewer to participate, to stop, to avoid, to take notice, not to be ignored.

It has a good understanding of the nature of the material and its physical transition.
