Concept of artwork 設計理念:

This composition is about the conflict between my childhood aspirations, my imagination and the daily realities. My identity is torn in the pull between the three and I hang in an unstable balance in between. The scenery of my childhood revolves around this couch. When my mother was pregnant with me, my father bought her this couch to rest on it. It is there that I was breast fed. It is there that I blew the candles of my birthday cakes. In old photographs, it is there that I sleep on my father’s knee.   In Greek and Roman mythology, the sculptor Pygmalion cannot find his ideal love in reality. He carves Galatea out of ivory and promptly falls in love with her. Faced with a present that I cannot be satisfied with, I sculpt my own figure in my perfect fantasy. Next to the little girl there is a flower bud filled with hope. Over the head of Galatea, the colorful flowers are in full bloom and harmony. Each of them is feeling and desire of the moment. I dreamt of becoming a princess. But now I realize that I am a dwarf who has to live in a barren land. The flowers are wilting over the blackened image of me. Hope and desire is gone, leaving only traces of what might once have bloomed.
