Love creeps into me unawares. This feeling of love is determined by emotion, not by choice. When you first fall in love, you are drunk on sweetness, unable to see anything. It is like being under a spell. The premise of this piece is that the cause of the corruption of love begins from materialism. No matter how beautiful and delicious they are, the tantalizing and beautiful desserts, delicious apples, and luxury bag are elements that are bound to disappear someday. And the snake that is coveting them symbolizes us who are habituated to material desires. As industrial society began, material-dependent life did not open the way of true happiness, and material things came to be thought of as requisite for happiness. This desire for material gain has brought on the corruption of love today. I’ve started to ponder what true love is.

Sweet desserts are placed on a long table. The desserts that should be colorful and beautiful are ruined or spoiling, and can’t be eaten. A messed-up luxury handbag is placed on a splendid dish at the center of the dining table. Rotten apples sit in a basket, while the rest of the apples roll loose on the table. Two empty chairs are covered with white cloths, showing no trace of who once sat there. Only the chill of the gap between the two chairs is felt. All that remains on the cold table is one snake that has not let go of its desire.
