Concept of artwork 設計理念:
Within a year course in Research Lab(2018) in Craft Department of Konstfack University in Stockholm to relook on recycled clay and how to encourage and capture the characters, and extend the usage of recycled clay in ceramic art. Nature and imperfection is the theme in my making. Never Pure is a set of experimental work which discuss about the aesthetic and politic of imperfection and how recycled clay can be used to make a dialogue. The way of seeing and being mindful while making is an important act in order to discover the form and surface. Through nature observation, I realized that purity doesn’t exist in the nature. And if nature is my superior truth, why am I worry that there is a brown spot on my porcelain? It is time to rethink and embrace the imperfection and impurity in clay. Continuously I have been working on how to de‐traditionalize ceramic tradition and sustainability. I research on how to encourage and capture the subtlety of texture, surface, colour and form. My aim is to find the way to extend the properties, characters and usage of clay and other ceramic materials in order to create a unique character of in‐between identity.

I enjoy the aesthetics of this work. I appreciate the dense textured surfaces of the simple shapes and the process of recycling clay to produce new work in appreciation for contamination or mixing of clays.
